Heather MacDuffie PhD, LCSW

Unyte Clinical Advisory Board Alumnus (2020-2022)

I have maintained a private psychotherapy practice specializing in work with trauma-impacted adults, particularly those with chronic interpersonal dysregulation, dysregulation and self-injury. I’ve utilized many approaches, including such diverse models as psychoanalysis and behavior therapy. I completed an interdisciplinary PhD in 2010 in Disability Studies, Social Work and Communication Theory. My greatest love has been AEDP, an experiential approach to attachment-, trauma- and developmentally-impacted difficulty in relating to self and others.

Since discovering the Safe and Sound Protocol I have discontinued therapy as usual and refocused my efforts to understand and harness the full potential of the SSP, via integrative practice, and to seek out others with similar striving in order to deepen our collective understanding and expertise. The SSP facilitates many different therapeutic efforts and is best supported with integrative practice methods.
